Chairperson Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Ms. Leila Khan chaired a meeting to review the implementation of Laptop Distribution Scheme here today.

HEC representatives gave a detailed briefing about the current status of the program. It was briefed in the meeting that as part of the laptop purchase deal Heir Company will provide value added service which will include establishment of two E-classrooms each in Sindh and Islamabad. The E-Classrooms will include Android Tablets for thirty (30) students, One Tablet for Trainer, Wireless Access Point for in-room connectivity, Furniture and Aesthetic work.

Haier Company will also provide Paid 6-weeks Internship worth Rs. 10,000 for Thirty (30) students from universities all across Pakistan in different areas, viz. HR, Production, Marketing, Sales, Customer Support, and Engineering Support. Undergraduate students in final year of relevant disciplines will be offered this internship based on merit.

One hundred thousand successful students who will receive laptops will have their personal storage drive of 10GB capacity to upload data within and across country, instead of using OneDrive of Microsoft or Google Drive.

Two state of the art Laundry set-ups would be installed each in universities Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The laundries will have 2 – 3 Automatic machines and all accessories required for operational laundry room.

Beside two successful candidates from Balochistan and FATA will be given scholarships within country based on merit.

Ms Leila khan appreciated the efforts of HEC and stressed the implementation of proposed services by the first week of February.
